Summary

CCD’s commitment to sustainable business practices

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, sustainability is of paramount concern. Businesses around the world are recognizing the urgent need to address climate change and reduce their carbon emissions. At Climate Connect Digital (CCD), we firmly believe that embracing sustainability is not just a moral obligation but also a strategic imperative. As a leading carbon and net-zero software company, we are committed to helping businesses navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy. In this article, we will delve into CCD’s unwavering dedication to achieving net-zero emissions and outline the steps we are taking to create a sustainable business model.

Work-From-Home (WFH) emissions

CCD has been remote-first since its inception. While the WFH approach offers numerous benefits, it does present some unique challenges when it comes to tracking individual employees’ work-related energy and transport emissions. However, we are fully aware of these challenges and have implemented robust systems to overcome them. We strive to ensure comprehensive and accurate data collection, as well as the use of high-quality carbon credits for offsetting emissions. Additionally, we consider the financial implications of our sustainability initiatives, ensuring that they align with our long-term goals and aspirations.

Tracking GHG emissions

We recently published our complete GHG emissions disclosure report for FY 2021-22. This report, prepared according to the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard methodology and verified by a third-party organisation, showcases our commitment to transparency, accountability and sustainability.

As a remote-first company, CCD does not have direct emissions from fuel burning or combustion engine vehicles. Therefore, Scope 1 emissions are not applicable.

On the other hand, CCD diligently tracks and offsets its Scope 2 emissions, which encompass the emissions resulting from purchased electricity used in our leased offices and individual employee workspaces. We have calculated our Scope 2 emissions to be 1.030 tCO2e for the fiscal year 2021-22.

Offsetting emissions

In line with our dedication to sustainability, CCD is committed to offsetting all of our company emissions through investment in carefully selected carbon offset projects. These projects undergo rigorous verification processes to ensure their credibility and effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions. Our offsetting efforts account for the emissions generated by our business travel, customer-domain cloud server usage, transmission and distribution losses, and work-from-home activities.

CCD’s sustainability actions and future targets

In conclusion, CCD’s commitment to sustainability goes far beyond being a remote-first company. We are dedicated to actively neutralising our carbon footprint and leading the way in climate solutions. By providing cutting-edge software, digital solutions, and consulting services, we empower businesses to embark on their decarbonization journeys. Our impact extends beyond our own operations, as we actively contribute to renewable energy generation and carbon emissions reduction on a large scale. Moving forward, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of net-zero emissions and will continue to address ongoing challenges while assisting other companies in implementing robust emissions reduction measures and achieving accurate Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) practices.
